Anxiety can look like panic attacks, fear of public speaking, social anxiety, health anxiety, or obsessive thoughts, worry, and rumination. But oftentimes it also looks like avoidance, procrastination, bottling things up, or shutting down.
There are ways to quiet the worry. In therapy Lee can assist you in relieving symptoms and prevent further escalation of anxiety through approaches such as Mindfulness and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
Lee treats clinical depression using a combination of traditional cognitive behavioral therapy and psychodynamic therapies.
This means Lee will work with you to explore your history to uncover the origins of troubling issues, and gains insight into your behavior patterns and resolves internal conflicts. After identifying the sources of harmful behaviors, Lee works with you to change current behavior through directed planning, therapy and focused exercises.
There are a number of reasons why personal injuries may take a toll on our psychological health. To begin, the accident itself may be traumatic. For example, a person who is injured in a car accident may have not only been hurt themselves, but may have seen others, including loved one, sustain serious or fatal injuries. Accidents often involve loud noises and uncontrollable amounts of force, which can be jarring to the system and result in PTSD and anxiety.
The injuries that result from an accident can also be psychologically and emotionally draining. If a person suffers a serious injury, they may be prevented from returning to work and earning an income, resulting in feelings of inadequacy or even shame. Disabling injuries may also prevent an individual from being able to do the things that they love, and could be disfiguring. This can have an effect on a person’s self-confidence and feelings of self-worth, quality of life, and even relationships.
Lee can facilitate communication of thoughts and feelings to gain a better perspective of the relationship and types of changes that need to be made.
Therapy will give your relationship the tools to develop shared understandings and to learn how to develop together.
A parental fitness evaluation is conducted to address the capability of a parent. This process includes a clinical interview, observation, psychological testing, document review and outside collateral information all combined to produce an evaluative report that will be submitted to the referral source including family court, attorney or child protective services agency.
The evaluation may consider factors such as the parent's living conditions, financial stability, criminal history, drug use, and other relevant information. Unlike a custody evaluation, which focuses on determining the most appropriate custody arrangement for the child, a parental fitness evaluation focuses on the parent's overall ability to care for the child. $2100/evaluation
